5. Tricorder

One of the most iconic devices from Star Trek was the tricorder. The Tri coder was a small handheld device which allowed the crew to take scientific readings of whatever planet they were on. It could measure a patient’s vital signs by being waved in front of the patient.

Today we have the Scanadu, a Tri corder like device which can measure a person’s heart rate. Temperature and other vital signs are in mere seconds.
